February is the month of candy, roses, romance and Valentines Day. Many of us spend a lot of our scrapbook time this month capturing those special moments and memories of our loved ones. But, did you know that February is also Children’s Dental Health Month?
I encourage you to take a moment and think of all the fun “toothy” everyday things you can document in your scrapbook pages for you and your family. Some ideas:
- Take photos of: the outside of your dentist or orthodontist’s office, the dentist and/or hygienist, receiving a tooth cleaning, the toothpaste/toothbrush/floss in your bathroom, brushing those chompers, your favorite gum (because chewing gum does keep your teeth cleaner between brushings!), lost teeth, a great smile, those new braces, toothaches (ouch!), sweets that may not be great for your next dental checkup (but you and yours indulge in anyway)….
- Capture some “dental” details on your pages: love/fear of going to the dentist, good/bad checkups, morning/evening wake up/bedtime routines, love (or hate) of a certain type of toothpaste/mouthwash, lost teeth (did the toothfairy visit?), funny conversations had about tooth brushing or going to the dentist, would the dentist approve of indulgence in that tasty confection?, braces and those colorful rubber bands, wisdom teeth (have they been removed?), have you had your teeth whitened?, and you can never go wrong capturing a wonderful smile and commenting on how great it is.
