9-30-2011 Gallery Standouts with Meredith Cardall

Hi! It’s Meredith here and I am picking my favorite layouts from the galleries today! I have been looking forward to this post all month. I spent a long time today browsing through galleries. I looked at hundreds of layouts and loved every one. I never realized how hard it would be to narrow my favorites down to 12 layouts. But I’m excited to show these layouts to you, so let’s get started!

I have a mental block when it comes to scrapping without photos. And I have a really hard time scrapping about myself. So, I LOVE this page! I love that she didn’t use any photos, and I LOVE that she journaled about herself! And, Modern Family is one of my favorite shows, too!

Again, I love that this layout doesn’t have any images. The journaling is real and it’s the kind of story that should be passed down.

I just love this layout! I love the kit pieces she chose, I love the journaling and I love the layout composition.

Alex’s Perfect Day by JenLin
I think I like this Alex fellow! His perfect day sounds a lot like my perfect day. I think this type of layout is perfect for documenting a child’s personality every year. Since this perfect day was written about 9 years ago, I wonder how many of these items would STILL be on his perfect day list! ((Plus, I agree that Jordan Commons is indeed one of the best places to go!))

Make a Wish by AnaPaula
I love birthday layouts, but I have such a hard time scrapping those days! I love that she chose one adorable photo to focus on rather than trying to cram 765 photos onto a layout like I tend to do. Plus I love the composition of this layout.

Okay, Disney might be my least favorite place on the planet, but I adore this layout! I love the enthusiasm in her journaling. I love the photo of the Disney castle. I love the white paper she used for the background with the bright contrast of the embellishments and paper strips!

The Little Things by Scrapper@Heart
I love yellow and gray together! The color combination in this layout and the perfect composition initially caught my eye. But the journaling is what captured my heart! As a mother of two small daughters I feel the moments slipping away all too quickly. I love the quotes she chose as well as her own words to talk about how she feels about her daughter growing up.

I Need You by Carrie1977
This layout just sucked me in. First, it has no photos, and we all know how I feel about layouts without photos! And the composition is beautiful! Then, I read the journaling and it just got to me. I am intrigued by mother/daughter relationships in all their various states.

Autumn Days by parr1983
Okay, this baby is just precious! I love those cheeks! I love the monochrome design of this page. I love that it is basically black and white, but still feels warm. Can you imagine what this page would look like printed on metallic photo paper?! Gorgeous!

This Month Was Crazy by Jaye
Again, this is a strong journaling page with no photo. I am going to challenge myself to do one of these pages! I love Jaye’s journaling here and boy can I relate! I love that she documented this crazy month and why it was so crazy and what she did to help survive the craziness of the month. I love the real journaling!

Fall Days are Happy Days by Laurie
I love the gray woodgrain background paired with all the other vibrant autumn colors in the photo as well as the embellishments! I feel like a lot of autumn pages lose their colors and they don’t have to. Laurie’s page is a perfect example of that!

My Heart by melscrap
I am a sucker for father/daughter layouts. I love everything about this one! I love the composition. The kit she chose is just perfect. And the journaling is heartfelt and real. Look at the shadowing on those ribbons! It’s amazing!
